Amazing Invention In Outdoor Furniture Fabrics

It has only been in recent years that the variety of outdoor fabric made big changes. Historically, these fabrics were great for holding up to weather and elements but left much to be desired in both their texture, feel and available color. The manufacturers of Sunbrella changed everything with outdoor fabric that look good and feel good.

Gardens and patio designers and homeowners had longed for a better selection. The existing options left little room for discovering new colors or textures. It was either stripes or solids in predictable colors, and little else. Along came Sunbrella, who changed the whole world of outdoor fabrics. They make weather resistant fabrics that designers are using for interior work as well.

Originally, outdoor fabrics were constructed of all nylon or other synthetics and made with a loose weave so water would dry quickly. Today’s fabrics have eliminated the need to even use Scotch Guard protection. Kevlar or teflon is woven into the fabric allowing for an ultimate product that is much more like fine, indoor fabrics.

The benefits of Sunbrella are many. Vibrant colors and patterns are unaffected by sun. Even the old nylon fabrics would eventually fade but there is no longer that worry with these new ones. The fabric has a built-in sunscreen so expect years of no change in the color.

The fabrics also withstand the worst of stains. A little soapy water and a towel will remove almost any soil including wine or chocolate. For the family with children or dogs, there’s never a need to sacrifice beauty for durability either.

The array of both weaves and colors have made Sunbrella one of the current favorites for interior designers. Not leaving it simply to the outdoors, it is now being used for standard interior upholstery and drapery elements. The textures and patterns stand up against some of the biggest names in interior design.

With this type of refinement, it stands to reason that designers have found a new way to integrate indoor and outdoor areas. With such refined fabrics that can be used anywhere, the transition from interiors to exteriors can take on a seamless look. There’s no longer any problem with totally unifying both space and design.

The company also seems to consistently be adding new types of fabrics to their line. The durability continues to increase as do various grades. This means that for consumers, the idea of using Sunbrella is strictly a trade secret. It can often be found by the yard and on non-custom furniture. This means longer warranties and choices for the retail shopper.

The many varieties of Sunbrella are found in to the trade only stores as well as retail fabric shops. The consumer can determine the amount of resiliency by the manufacturer’s numbering system. A quick look at Sunbrella’s website provides all sorts of pertinent information to help make your project a successful one.
