Wrought Iron Patio Furniture And How To Clean It

wrought iron patio furnitureOne of the most attractive and elegant options you have for patio furniture is wrought iron patio furniture. As well as being a very attractive choice, wrought iron is great for outdoor use because it is so durable.

You can choose large or small wrought iron patio tables with chairs to match or you can also choose a sun lounger if you prefer. Though wrought iron patio furniture is available in various colors, black is the most common color.

Cleaning wrought iron patio furniture is quite easy to do. However one thing you should avoid is abrasive cleaning products as this can damage the furniture. This is why it is better to use a moist rag for light cleaning, and water and mild detergent for heavy cleaning.

If you are just giving your furniture a light clean, you should use a damp cloth and nothing else.

The first thing you need to do if your furniture is particularly dirty is to spray it down with the garden hose. You should then mix mild detergent with water. Pour this mixture in a spray bottle, and spray a coat of the mixture on the furniture for heavy cleaning. Then, just wipe off the mixture using a rag moistened with water. Next, dry the furniture using a cotton towel.

If there are any stubborn stains then wipe them with sand paper. You will have to use a dry cloth to wipe away the remnants from the sanding. You will probably have to paint over these areas with the color of your furniture.

Using a clear varnish on the furniture is a good idea as this will give added protection and will prevent scratching or peeling of paint. If you don’t want to paint over any non wrought iron areas such as wood or glass, then you should apply masking tape or something similar to cover these areas up.
